As the publics awareness of the damage we have caused to our planet, through over consumption and the poisons we, on a second by second basis, pump into it, there has been a shift in buying habits. People are searching out green, sustainable and recyclable products. Corporations and individuals have seen the financial rewards for these products and have instigated a full-fledged attack on the public with products purporting to have these attributes. In many cases these products are not any healthier for our planet or our bodies than the same non-green products.
My goal for this blog is to, as unbiased as I can be; report cases where products or services that have deemed themselves green are in fact not. This kind of green washing is lulling us into a false sense of “I’m doing the right, green thing to help save our planet”, when in fact we are not. Not only will I attempt to flush out the perpetrators of green washing, I will also bring attention to those who are making the sincere and honest effort to change or create products that help to clean up our environment.
First fact to remember: Just because something can be recycled, doesn’t mean it is being recycled.
